Whitney Palmer - Oddities and Idiosyncrasies

I am unique.  (Just like everyone else....)  A friend once told me "If you become a celebrity, it would be so easy to do impressions of you."  Here are a few of the unique-isms he was referring to.

-I love to hug strangers.

-I believe the question "How are you?" is a REAL QUESTION, not simple a greeting.

-I have a rule that I have to laugh before I get out of bed in the morning.  Breaking the barrier at the beginning of the day makes it easier to respond with laughter later!

-Every day, I strive to do and identify something I have never done before.

-I love pomegranates, olives, and coconut water.

-My "get the day started high-energy playlist" consists of: Doobie Brothers, Ziggy Marley, Tower of Power, Stevie Wonder, Joshua Radin, and sometimes Cake. The gluten-free variety.

-The easiest way for me to cry is to feel gratitude.

-Rock climbing is always the answer if my day needs an improvement. It’s the perfect balance of brain puzzle, meditative focus, and muscle exertion.

-I spontaneously sing.  And dance.  With no reason at all.  Sometimes in public gatherings.  Who said musicals weren't realistic?

-I’m deeply acquainted with grief. My calendar is full of angel birthdays from many inner circle losses. I’m committed to living a full, deeply connected life and carrying these dear friends with me through each day.

-I’m a Dad-joke encyclopedia. A groan is better than a laugh.

-I love my family, and they are quite unique!  My Mum's from England, my Dad's from New Zealand, I have family all over the world, and I was raised in Austin, TX.

WHITNEY PALMER - MANTRAS

My favorite way to get to know someone is asking their mantra.  Through the years, I have been impressed and inspired by the answers I've collected from friends and strangers.  Here are a few of my favorites:

"The world is a beautiful place, and my job is to prove it."

“In my house, we don’t accept apologies for emotions. You will absolutely apologize for how you treat people while feeling it, but not the emotion itself.”

"It is never too late to be what you might have become."

"If it's important to you, you will find a way.  If not, you will find an excuse"

"Celebrate what's right with the world."

"All I can do is love."

"Let your smile change the world."

"People are humans first.  Everything else (their job, relationship, gender, talents, age, etc) second.”

“In a world where you can be anything, be kind.”
